No but I'd use a cleansing wipe first or the brush head will get this dingy gray look to it that you can't get out.

Using the Clarisonic will definitely remove the makeup, but I tend to do a very quick pass with a little cleanser to get some of it off before I use the Clarisonic. Just sort of a neat freak thing - that way the brush doesn't get very dirty. However, it's very easy to clean the brush either on the unit of removed from it.

It's recommended to wash your makeup off first, so as to not stain the brush head. You can't remove eye makeup with this brush.

I think you can use it every day - I use mine twice a day. I don't think it causes reddened skin, but If you have very sensitive skin you may not want to use it for more than the recommended 1 minute and/or use a slower speed.

Based on personal experience no it won't cause redenned skin.

In fact it gives you value for money with aiding in better absorption of your existing serums and moisturisers.

The Clarisonic is meant to be used everyday. I personally found using it twice a day was too excessive, so make using it before bed your priority, that's when you need the deep cleaning plus it will allow your products to be more effective while working overnight. If you have sensitive skin, use the sensitive skin brush head.

Yes , I use mine 2 x's a day. If you have sensitive ,get the sensitive brush head , you should not get "reddened"skin from it.,If you do not apply alot of pressure when using it . you don't want to pull or stretch your skin anyway,it's not recommended. It's a sonic movement that clenses the debree out of your skin, and you gently brush it away , type of action. I hope that helps.

It depends on what you would like to use it to do. I can tell you the differences between them and you have to decide what works best for your needs.

The Mia is compact (which makes it good for travel), comes in more colors and is much less expensive. The downside is that the Mia does much less. It only has one speed (normal) comes with one brush head and does not have a body spot treatment mode where you can use it on your body.

The Mia 2 is also compact, is about $30 more than the Mia (but still much less than the PLUS), has two speeds (low and normal) and comes with a protective travel case. It comes with one brush head and does not have a body spot treatment mode where you can use it on your body.

The PLUS is bigger, has three speeds (low, normal and high), has a body spot treatment mode with two speeds for the body (normal and pulse) comes with two brush heads (one for face and one for body), However, those extra things make it cost much, much more. It is more than $100 more than the Mia.

I purchased the PLUS because the higher speed and the body spot treatment mode were important to me. I also wanted to be able to use it with the body brush extension handle (which you cannot use with the Mia or Mia 2).

I hope this information helps you to decide which is better for you.

The body brush and three speed settings are what sold me because I need to prep my skin for self-tanner, prevent ingrown hairs along the bikini line, and smooth the upper chest area. I've bought additional brush heads for other family members which increased the value of this product and made the investment worthwhile. Love the versatility and options from the plus.

If money's not an issue, get the Plus. You might not use the body mode but certainly the three cleansing speeds for the face are handy, plus it signals when to move to the next location on your face. I find with the Mia I spend too much time on my cheeks, then it turns off before even making it to my forehead, etc. Not a big deal though, I just turn the Mia back on, but like I said, if you can splurge on the Plus...do it. The Mia was simply a comprise between my husband and I.

Question

clarisonic plus vs the clarisonic mia

i bought the clarisonic mia and just got it today. i am now thinking i shoudl have bought the clarisonic plus. what is the benefit to having the 3 speeds? which one is more popular? i haven't opened it up yet and may decide to change my mind. what do you think?

I have the Plus and I have to admit I don't use the variable speeds much, but I can see that I might. There is quite a difference - the highest is very fast, and the lowest is very slow and gentle. I use the highest most but can see that I would use the others sometimes.

I think the bigger difference is the Body Brush that comes with the Plus - really cool and feels good. I just decided that if I'm going to spend the money, might as well get the best one with the most features that I can use on my body as well as my face.

Personally I think the Mia is fabulous!
I could have done well with it.
I use the body brush attachment once or twice a week!
We all know that body brushing is supposed to aid the loss of cellulite.
Also I do like that my husband can give me a back massage with the other speeds, I do often use the body brush with the face speed though, so buy a normal brush for the body (fabulous pre fake tanning!!) and your set!
Hope this helps!!

I have the original clarisonic and use an older brush head to do my elbows. I have bought my daughter and my sister the mia and they love it. The diference I think mainly is it is easier to travel with the mia. Otherwise you don"t need additional speeds.

My logic was that since I was making the Clarisonic investment it was best to get the whole system. I was not disappointed and have bought additional brush heads for my husband's sensitive skin. Now that we both use it, I am even more pleased with my purchase because it was not just a splurge on myself and I love that he gets a kick out of this product too. Definitely need the three speeds when you want to prevent ingrown hairs or prep skin for self-tanner.

I have never used it on my eyes, but I will say that the unit has 3 speed settings, and the lowest setting is quite slow and gentle. If you are careful and don't press too hard I'm sure it would be fine to use on your eyes, just probably not every time. The instructions say that you should remove your eye makeup by hand, and I would agree with that even if you plan to use the brush on your eyes.

Ummm....I wouldn't use the Clarisonic on the eye's. It's the most sensitive skin on your body also making it the most vulnerable. I've seen users with dry, flaky skin under their eyes because of exfoliation. You don't necessarily need to exfoliate or deeply cleanse the under eye skin area. On a side note, the makers of Clarisonic recently released the Opal, a tool specifically for under the eyes. I'm guessing you wanted to use the Clarisonic under the eyes to make your eye cream more effective. If this is the case, try the Clarisonic Opal.

I wouldn't recommend it. Here's my opinion. Whilst using the brush at one point, i accidently brushed it pass my eye for a little bit. It feels gentle enough to be used on the eye but you have to understand. The skin around your eye area is very delicate much more delicate than the skin around any other parts of your face. So just a little tugging at the skin around your eye can eventually make the skin around it flacid if done on a daily basis and enhance droopy eye lids which i am sure you don't want. :)

No. It only comes with the body spot therapy brush head and the sensitive skin brush head. That is the way the Clarisonic PLUS system is sold everywhere, not just here. In order to get the normal brush you have to buy it separately. SkinStore does sell a PLUS system with three brush heads (the sensitive skin brush head, the deep pore cleansing brush head and the body spot therapy brush head). It costs only $10 more than this one. Since a deep pore cleansing brush head costs $25 if you buy it separately, that one is a good value.

The Clarisonic is the most amazing and worthwhile skincare product I've ever purchased, most definitely effective for any skin type. However, if your biggest concern is brown spots, the Clarisonic wouldn't necessarily diminish them but allow the product you're using to be more effective. In other words, you would notice a softer, smoother, more radiant skin using the Clarisonic, but to diminish the brown spots an additional skincare product is necessary. Try Caudalie, they have an amazing Vinoperfect line that would be optimal with the Clarisonic.

Since the clarisonic is a form of manual exfoliation it should help with dark spots a little. Depending on how long you've had them or how dark they are, you might want to use a serum targeted for treating hyperpigmentation. Also, remember to wear sunscreen daily even if you are just inside.
