What is the particle size of the zinc oxide in DermaQuest Skin therapy Zinclear SPF 30 ? And are the particles coated?
I read that nanoparticles of zinc oxide may be absorbed by the skin where they induce free radical formation in contact with UV rays resulting in potential skin and DNA damage (especially where nanoparticles are non-coated); also that zinc oxide nanoparticles may be less effective at screening from UVA rays compared to larger particles. I have read that 'ZinClear-IM' (a trade name) technology from Antaria Ltd involves a larger sized particle ie one micron (or 1000 nm) - is this the same technology that is contained in DermaQuest Skin therapy Zinclear SPF30?
