I am 49 and also have sensitive skin (rosacea), and the product works beautifully for me. I think you would do well with Dermablend.

I have vitiligo on my face as well as other areas. Should I try to match a shade to lighten the pigmented areas or darken the unpigmented areas?

I'd use the Dermablend Cover makeup on the spots then Smooth Indulgence in the closest color match to your normal skin tone.

You will have better luck if you try blending two different shades together. Use a lighter shade over the area to lightly mute the coloring of the Viitiligo then wait 5 minutes before applying a blending of two shades together . Apply translucent setting powder to seal.
