My hair isn't thick, but it is highlighted with color and normal to oily. Also very, very easily tangled. I love this product. My favorite Alterna products are the Bamboo Smooth Anti-Frizz shampoo and conditioner, kendi oils, and their Alterna Shine shampoo and conditioner so far. Their "Workable" finishing hair spray is also fantastic - not sticky, soft flexible hold. The only Alterna products that I've tried so far that I don't like are their Volumizing shampoo and conditioners. They weren't moisurizing or detangling like these others. They didn't feel like Alterna products. I think their Caviar products were great too, but I'd say the best value is the Bamboo Smooth and Hemp Shine Color-Hold (especially Bamboo Smooth!) because these work great and cost a bit less than some of their other products. Their products are amazing - I'm hooked on them! They are making my long hair soft and healthy again =)
