The bottle of the liquid Phloretin CF spills easily. I like the gel much better and it travels well.

I have tried both and it is a question of your personal preference when it comes to consistency...
Phloretin CF is like the other tincture type products that Skinceuticals sells - a liquid with an eye dropper to measure out what you need, and moving quickly, you spread the product over the face. The gel has a pump and as the name suggests, is delivered in a more thick consistency that some may find a bit easier to apply since the product is more manageable. The products contain the same active ingredients - so it's nice to have a choice and decide what you think you would like best.

the liquid can be spilled. i personally lost 1/2 bottle. the gel uses a pump which makes it impossible to spill plus the gel itself is easy to use.

I would definitely suggest calling Skinstore's customer support group to ask for their professional recommendation from the supplier. At the same time, my experience having worked in retail is that most moms forego purchasing many products that have a chemical component (or even the prospect of one) during pregnancy. You obviously care a lot for your friend, so perhaps the best solution is to come out and ask what might be most meaningful for her being so far along in her pregnancy!

Question

Use of CE Ferulic serum versus Phlorectin gel

I currently use the CE Ferulic serum, but need to reorder. I am considering trying to Phlorectin gel instead. Are they comparable products? Which is more recommended for 49 year old skin just trying to look as young as possible?

I would stay with the CE Ferulic. I am 52 and my skin looks amazing using this serum. Plus, this serum is highly regarded within the industry.
