If you have sensitive skin, get the C E Ferulic. The Ploretin contains lighteners that can be irritating.

I have used both. I get more hydration out of the CE ferulic and I too have normal to dry skin.

You should be able to use either one. SkinCeuticals states that the CE Ferulic is more targeted for a drier skin type.

No topical product can get rid of saggy skin and deep wrinkles. This product , along with use of RetinA will make skin brighter and clearer -looking and seems to maintain collagen for a slightly plumper look to the skin.

I don't know if it "gets rid" of them but helps to make them less noticeable and protects for the future

Question

Can I start using this at 24 years old?

I'm worried if I may be starting too soon and if it may be doing more harm than good if there's such a thing. I've been using Estee Lauder's Advanced Night Repair Serum followed by Neo Strata Smoothing Lotion AHA10 at night. Thank you.

It's never too early to start taking care of your skin. The one thing I would advise you to use at your age is sun screen, but yes, you can use this. It will give you a healthy glow and prevent wrinkles.

Good for you for being proactive about your skincare!!! I also grew up in a very sunny climate (Honolulu) and have always been concerned about prevention! (I just got asked to see an id card when buying wine and I just turned 42!! In the US you have to be over 21.) I think this could fit in really well with your current skincare regimen, as this product is used in the mornings. Also, since antioxidants destroy free-radicals, a cause of premature aging, this would be great for someone your age. Personally, I have never had any success with coffeeberry formulations and prefer this product. As you get older, you might want to think about adding prescription vitamin A. Sorry about the overly verbose response. Good luck!!

I used this one in my 20s I am early 30s currently. I live in a very sunny climate in Arizona, USA. So I have done a lot of product looking and worry about ingredients over time. When I looked up the ingredients in this product it did have some cancer concerns as per the cosmetic database, skin deep. I did not see any positive changes while using this product but as it is very expensive I only used it for about 6 months. I have you been using the Priori coffeeberrry line....( PRIORI Coffeeberry Brightening Facial Complex) safe and I have seen nice results on current sunspots....plus it has the nice antioxidant ingredients to prevent further damage :) PS I have very reactive sensitive skin. Good luck!

This product helped me w/ the red marks from blemishes. However, it is in no way hydrating. In fact, I found it to be the opposite. A good moisturizer that doesn't congest your pores is the key.

I used Philosophy before trying this product and will be going back to it. My oily skin has improved over the years and it could probably be called "normal" as long as I continue to use products for oily skin. I have tried this serum and the other SkinCeuticals one without success. This formula made my face breakout. Both types made my skin feel greasy. I used it for 2 weeks and am returning it for a refund.

I have used this before, and have battled acne, I would not think you would be happy with this product. it made my skin very shinny and feels too heavy too moisturizing for acneic skin. Looks for a hydrating serum that has a lot of hyaluronic acid in it. That is a hydrator that works on all skins

I also have acne-prone skin and I don't find this drying at all. If you are concerned about hydration, you can pair this with the Hydrating B5 gel to be safe. I use both and I love the results.

Vitamin C will naturally darken a little over time but it does not reduce the effectiveness of the product. That's just a normal reaction from the L -Ascorbic acid (Vit C) being exposed to oxygen. Skinceuticals backs up this information on the label. Use with confidence :)

Yes, it is still good when it turns a golden color. That sometimes happens when you leave the top off for too long. It's exposure to the air, but still works just the same.

On the SkinCeutical's official site it mentions "It is normal for vitamin C products to darken after opening due to air and light exposure. Any change in color does not affect the product's efficacy.". So store it in the refrigerator or dark place while you are not using it.

No, they should be fine to be used together. The CE should be used in the morning. The pigment regulator can just be used at night or both day and night. If you are going to use it day and night, apply it to the spots of concern before using the CE.

Can I apply over wet skin?

I've read that the reason this product is superior to other vitamin C boosters is that it's carefully formulated to actually penetrate skin cells, and applying it to damp skin will probably decrease the effectiveness. I would recommend that you apply the CE Ferulic to a dry face but follow it about 10-15 minutes later with the hydrating B5 gel, and then apply your regular daytime moisturizer/sunscreen. That gives the Vitamin C time to absorb, and the B5 gel enhances the effectiveness of your regular moisturizer. (I know I sound like a sales rep, but I'm speaking from my own experience after using these 2 products together for a few years.)

Yes, as long as you're not swallowing it! No reason topical vitamins should be a problem, absorption into the body would be minimal anyway.

I just started using the SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic in the AM. What can I use in the PM for the best results? I have oily/acne prone skin with some hyperpigmentation and would like to improve the overall look and texture of my skin while brightening. I already have a great cleanser and toner...would like something very effective with great reviews.

Retin A would be great to use at night, especially since you have oily skin anyway - this needs a prescription from a dermatologist but it's well worth it since you would be able to tolerate the high level in the prescription product. OTC brands have low levels of retinoids that are not nearly as effective

I just had a chemical peel, and I'm pretty sure the answer is no. Anything with acid is going to act as an additional exfoliant and when your skin is raw, not the best idea. Try Juice Beauty Organic Treatment Oil. It's crazy moist and will keep that new skin coated while it heals. And don't forget your sunscreen!
