Questions & Answers for MD Forte M.D. Forte Facial Lotion I

Question

Is this an exfoliant you use AFTER cleansing your face?

I'm a little confused by the product description/directions for use of this product. Is this product to be used AFTER you clean your skin with the Facial Cleanser I? I usually cleanse/tone my skin then add a serum/specialty treatment then my night cream. I am wanting to know specifically if this is the TONER part of the products or is this an additional lotion?

My derm told me to use in the morning, on damp skin, immediately after washing. Put a small amount on finger tips and smooth on face, then use moisturizer/sunscreen. Hope that helps!

Question

Should I apply moisturizer on top of the lotion or wear it alone?

I have combination skin but need a moisturizer. Can I apply a moisturizer after applying the Facial Lotion I, or is this meant to be worn by itself?

Depends on your ingredients and what you're trying to achieve with the products. Know what chemicals or compounds produce the results you are looking for. Then layering makes a lot of sense since there is no one product that does it all. (If anyone knows of one, do tell!!) I recommend Dr. Loretta Ciraldo's book on skin care. She does have her own product line, but does not excessively pitch it in the book. It is a great dermatology primer for the lay person. It does require some work to get the best products for your skin type but I think it is well worth it. Good luck!
