The 20% is pretty strong so if I were someone with sensitive skin I'd try the regular M2 Skin Refinish first and see how your skin handles it.

I have very sensitive skin and started out with 20% and the worst was I over dried my skin. If using the 20% make sure you add the moisturizer after the 20% sinks in. With cold dry weather I'm staying with the sensitive skin one. I use 20% in humid weather.

If your skin is super sensitive use the Skin refinish 12% to start. It is strong and it DOES work!

I have EXTREMELY sensitive skin and I went straight for the 20%! It was fine for me. Of course it stung a bit, but when I followed it up with the moisturizer, and then sunscreen and moister in the AM....I had zero problems. If you do....just alternate days, rather then every.

I would suggest that you start with 12%. Then after maybe a few months of it, you can increase the strength to 20%. Precondition your skin so you will be able to enjoy the full benefits of this wonderful product.

I started using the 20% but have recently switched to the 12% it is less sensitizing and a great place to start. I feel like I can use it 4 times a week maybe 5 where I was only using the 20 2 times weekly. I still feel like it is a bit hot but I love the way it smooths out my skin and really works well.

Maybe it's not for you. I rotate products around and have found that ProActive works REALLY well. Their repairing cream is excellent. My skin is flawless because of ProActive. I used to have a lot of acne and uneven skin tone. I use the M2 as an additional product.

If you have serious acne problems/blemishes, I guess you'll need to use it for a longer time. Also, a tip: if you skin can tolerate, try to apply it for 4-5 consecutive days, wait until it peels off, give a few days break, then start the procedure again. It was more effective for me this way.

Consistent use (every day/every two days, depending on skin type) is key and I find this product works best when using it with the facial wash.

I saw results ALMOST right away. I started out using the wash, the 20% Refinish and the moisturizer. What really boosted results for me was to use LESS of the Refinish (if you can rub it off in the morning you're using too much, and you need a whole lot less than you think), and get a richer moisturizer. I think the serum can actually clog if you use too much and if your skin is thirsty it can't regenerate very quickly. I've been jumping around between moisturizers but am trying Elemis right now and I'm very happy with it! Good luck!

I have melasma and saw results of fading in one night! Are you using the cleanser followed by the M2 20%? Do you wait 15 minutes to 20 mintues and then apply the moisturizer over? I started with 20% and now back to sensitive and still seeing results. I also alternate with Prevage. I also recently added the Dermatological vitamin c concentrate and night moisturizer. The reason I added as it contains OLIGOPEPTIDE-34 that prevents pigment from returning. I'm a 57 year old customer who has pigment issues. I can't understand how the 20% hasn't shown results as it very strong?Have you also checked M2 web site for any help? Good luck as I never thought I would have such fast and good results. I will admit that some pigment will remain but so faded need no cover. I wish you the good luck I have had. Perhaps a staff member can help figure out what isn't working for you.

Question

M2 Regimen

I recently ordered the M2 set, except for the body lotion. I want to know if I need to add any other products to my daily anti-aging AM and PM regimen? I'm 33 years old, normal/combo skin, some sun damage and some acne scarring.

Thanks!

If happy with the results you might just want to add Dermalogica ChromaWhite C-12 concentrate and the pure night. They contain OLIGOPEPTIDE-34 which prevents the pigment you remove from returning. I'm older then you and have also added all the prevage products to that. At 57 my skin is awesome thanks to all the products. M2 needs to add an eye creme that works as well as the rest of their lline. I wrote the manufacturer and never heard back. You would probably want to ask a staff member at what age you would want to add prevage or something similar.I do know you need to add something to increase collagen as the body ages we slow down in that area. If you do use prevage make sure to do test first. I like over the counter prevage better then the MD one.
I also think you would like the M2 body for use after you shower, less messy then prevage and don't neglect your hands and neck!

Hmmm, I would say that you follow the cardinal rule in skin care: cleanse, tone and moisturize. Plus never ever forget sunblock!! I am already 30 but my skin can pass for a 20 year old due to the fact that on top of my M2 regimen, I consistently use a very good sunblock. I recommend diorsnow SPF50 for this ( currently using).

I am about the same age and I use the M2 stuff. I use colorescience sunforgettable or skinceuticals ultimate 30 sunscreen with it every day. I also use a retinol and alternate that with the skin refinish. Just a couple ideas.

That's exactly what I do and it works well. I use Glytone, ProActive and M2. I rotate based on what my skin seems to need and the High Potency Skin Refinish is an excellent addition.

I have been using for about 10 months. This is strong stuff so I would rotate with other acid or strong products! It works fantastic alone with moisturizer. My skin has never looked better and I have tried just about everything out there. Make sure you let it dry 5 min before moisturizing. And moisturizing is necessary with this. Good luck!

Argh, I say NO to glycolic acid products. Tried using it but my skin simply cannot tolerate it!!! Will not use this with Glyco acids. Glycos are too harsh on the skin. Considering how bad glycos sting, the effect is not worth it. I would suggest you to use M2 all the way.

I used this throughout my pregnancy and didn't have any problems... In fact, my skin was so bad while I was pregnant that this was the only thing that would work, and it's hard to feel pretty when you're growing so quickly!

Question

Animal ingredients/animal testing?

Have been searching high and low to determine if M2 Skin Care, or MCK Laboratories (their former or parent producer) is cruelty free, but can find nothing. Does anyone know? Do they test on animals or use animal ingredients? Would love to use their products, but can't until I find out.

Question

Is it normal that it dries as a thin transparent layer on the face?

I only applied it on my forehead since my other areas are good but the forehead skin is like a disaster: breakouts, discolor, fine lines. However, the first night I applied it, it stings very much and as I waited till it dried, it become a thin transparent layer on my skin. I was wondering if it's normal and how the following moisturizer can be absorbed this way. Is everything I experienced normal?

If you have any questions about products, i suggest contacting the manufacturer directly. SkinMedica has a site with a phone number and email. They are the experts. It can burn a little at first, but I personally didnt have a thin layer but make sure you didnt put too much on. They might tell you to do every other day at first.
